Why I Want To Teach

As an undergraduate psychology student, I discovered a great curiosity for the brain. By its very nature, the complexities of the brain make it interesting, but much of my amazement was the result of my enthusiastic neuroscience professor. His enthusiasm and engaging lectures made the entire room excited to learn; he constantly encouraged students to strive for the next level regardless of their backgrounds; and he allowed us to make decisions in the classroom that would take full advantage of our personal learning styles. This class ultimately changed my life and set me on the path to pursue my career in neuroscience and I knew walking away from that class that I wanted to teach so I could inspire future students in the field as my professor had inspired me. Within this section, you will find my teaching philosophy and information about my teaching experience.
